The Role

The Scrum Master is a servant leader responsible for coaching the Scrum team to make progress, learn, and function at the highest level, which includes removing impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and working with product owners to ensure product backlog is well-groomed and ready for the next sprint, and acting as a buffer between the team and any distracting influences. This requires a good understanding of the Scrum framework and the ability to train others on it



  • CSM Certification (Certified Scrum Master)
  • At least 5 years of Agile Delivery experience
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices, Scrum service-oriented environments, and better development practices
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games
  • Well versed in setting up Jira to facilitate coordination among various teams and tracking of sprint progress in a fast paced Agile  environment
  • Has understanding of the technical terms and development processes to enable to the team to accomplish tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Detail orientation and highly organized to keep the entire team on schedule and ensure no task assignments escape notice



  • Ensure and contribute to high quality, on-time software product releases
  • Plan and coordinate each sprint
  • Schedule/facilitate sprint planning meeting(s) prior to the beginning of each sprint. Work with product owners and delivery teams to refine stories in advance of each sprint.
  • Schedule/facilitate daily stand up, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile / Scrum ceremonies
  • Coordinate triage meetings for bug fixes as a result of UAT or production support
  • Represent the team at the Scrum of Scrums meetings to report on progress and any impediments that need attention from leadership
  • Track backlog, provide burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
  • Break larger, more ambiguous work/stories into smaller more manageable work packages
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
